Mini Thrift Haul
7:02 PMI've been doing some thrifting at Crossroads Trading Co. for the past couple of days just because I was in the area where there was one. I found some cool pieces to add to my closet and you won't believe how much each item costed.
I came across this Vince 'Cropped Anorak' jacket for $47.50, which retailed for $495 on Shopbop. I love how the round shoulders and drawstrings have a bomber jacket vibe and y'all know how much I love the bomber style. This jacket is definitely more feminine but to switch it up, I wore it with a sporty top. The sporty top I went with is a Zara mesh top, also thrifted for only $16.50.
Other pieces in outfit:
- Sunglasses: Alexander McQueen
- Jeans: Topshop
- Bag: Proenza Schouler
This A.L.C top definitely blew me away - from the laser-cut rose detail to the opened back. This is still available online on sale for $169 at Gilt (retailed for $396) but I only paid $13.75! Yes, $13.75! The top was $27.50 but there was a "half-off" sticker so I couldn't leave it behind. I'm currently playing around with this top and so far it looks best with my Topshop culottes.
And lastly, I found these BRAND NEW Miu Miu's (new with box and dust bags, how lucky am I?!).
Here are some quick tips to check if the clothing article is heavily worn:
Tops:
- Armpit area - check for stains (sweat and deodorant) and the inseams (there will be pilling on the inseams because it rubs against one's undershirt/bra)
- Chest/belly area - check for stains (food/oil stains)
- Sides - pilling is often in that area due to the friction between bags and/or arms
- Collar
Bottoms:
- Inseams
- Between the thigh area - fabric will be much more thin due to walking (friction between the legs)
- Knee area - well you have to sit, right? Broken in bottoms are going to have that "knee print"
Coats/Jackets
- Sleeves
- Collar
- Lining - friction between clothes
Hope y'all enjoyed the post and found the thrifting tips helpful!
